The municipality of Sveti Petar Orehovec is located in the western part of Koprivnica-Križevci County. The municipality covers an area of 91.05 km2 and according to the last population census from 2011, it has 4,583 inhabitants.
The village of Sveti Petar Orehovec has about three hundred inhabitants and is one of the smallest municipal centers in Croatia.
The predominantly agricultural area and isolation contributed to the preservation of nature and a large number of autochthonous cellars and old houses built in the traditional way.
The future of the inhabitants of this region is inextricably linked to tradition and customs and the use of modern technology in the development of agriculture, crafts and tourism.
Area of St. Peter Orehovac is home to valuable archaeological finds and sacred buildings, such as the parish church of St. Peter in St. Petar Orehovac and the parish church of St. Mihovila in Miholac, which make this area an interesting destination.
